Got a call today from the people where my storage unit is - it has all my extra art in there, the extra bird houses, some sculptures. The owner apologizes and says there was a break in at several of the storage units last night - and mine was one of them. She asked that I come in and report what is missing.
So, I go rushing in. Stop off at the office to pick up a key as they used their padlock to lock my unit back up. She explains that they had messed up the other units but only took stuff from the front of the units.
I go on over to the unit and pull up the door. It appears unruffled although I know something is missing from the top of one pedestal. I check around for anything else missing and return to the office.
I go on in and report that I am so so pissed. Really really miffed off. And the owner apologizes and asks what is missing. I start in with I am really really miffed, and how could someone do anything like that. She asks what they did. And, I look at her with a straight face and tell her the thieves had absolutely no class, had no idea what good art was, the opportunity that was in front of them - the idiots had not stolen one piece of my art.
By this point the owner is rolling on the floor laughing and promised to explain it with a straight face to the police when she called back with a list of the missing items and report the thieves as seriously lacking in art expertise.
Really, honestly, you break into my storage unit of art and not one piece of art is worth stealing? Seriously? I am so so crushed.
