This slab was given to me by a local. The Cypress tree was in his yard and came down with Katrina. They took the tree and had it cut up and made furniture out of the rest - left over was this exterior curved slab.

I have mounted the thin slab onto a Cedar board for stability and left some of the gorgeous cypress showing through (for example, around the eye). I had to cut the slab very little as it just naturally fit the shape of the Pelican.
